Fine Dining
Restaurant Doubek
Doubek is a two Michelin star fine dining restaurant located in the basement of a historic building in the 8th district of Vienna. At the heart of this exceptional space is an open, custom-built fire kitchen that serves as a stage where chef Stefan Doubek brings his culinary creations to life for guests. The restaurant’s concept blends ancient traditions with minimalist design, creating an immersive experience where every detail is meticulously crafted and defined.
The design of the space draws on raw materials like fluted black steel, smoked oak, clay plaster, and coal, all echoing the simplicity and purity of the kitchen itself. Just like the cooking process, the focus here is on the essentials—stripped of any unnecessary adornment.
Doubek’s design invites the guest to become part of the performance, with every detail carefully orchestrated to create a cohesive experience. The expansive floor-to-ceiling light panels transform the space, making the guest forget that they are in a basement. The interplay of light, especially from the iconic SR-L-01 fixtures, and stage-like lighting directed onto the tables, creates a dramatic atmosphere that perfectly complements the culinary vision of the restaurant.
At Doubek, the dining experience is more than just a meal—it is a full sensory immersion into a world where architecture, design, and gastronomy converge, earning the restaurant its prestigious two Michelin stars.
